Hampton Roads Mentoring Program

                         Mentors

                 The mentor will undergo a training session that will help them better understand and relate to the youth.  They will discuss topics as communication, ethics, listening, conflict resolution, etc.  The mentor will undergo a criminal background check. The mentoring will occur during the mentors normal work hours. 

             The mentor will play a vital role in the development and progression of the mentee. The mentor will be responsible for formulating trusting professional relationships with the mentee.  The nature of the mentoring session will be to focus on academic support, career exploration, healthy behaviors, job placement, performance and reducing recidivism.
